About Menko

Menko Johnson picture...oh how unfortunate for him

Menko Johnson is Director of Technology for the Fremont Union High School District in Sunnyvale, CA. He is focused on effective integration of technology in teaching spaces emphasizing collaboration and flexibility. FUHSD is creating learning environments unlike other high schools in the United States. As a former technology teacher and professional development expert, he is dedicated to helping teachers become more effective, engaging instructors through innovative pedagogies and prudent use of technology.

Currently he is focused on creating a district-wide technology plan that will help bring new innovations and learning spaces to the high schools he works with. He is also continuing to work on designing and implementing a new evaluation program examining the impact of pedagogy, space and technology. He is also consulting with universities and K12 districts on issues of technology integration, learning space design, and teaching innnovation.

Menko has an M.A. in Instructional Technology and an M.Ed in Elementary Education. He previously helped launch worked in Stanford University's Wallenberg Hall from 2008-2010 and San Jose State's Academic Success Center and managed the Incubator Classroom from 2006-2008.
